Let's Go Fly a Kite!

With tuppence for paper and strings
You can have your own set of wings
With your feet on the ground

You're a bird in a flight
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite
Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!
When you send it flyin' up there
All at once you're lighter than air
You can dance on the breeze
Over 'ouses and trees
With your first 'olding tight
To the string of your kite
Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Let's go fly a kite!
Okay!  One more time from the top!  Hey!  Oh blast!  Who gave them a sno-cone?

Proud Parents of a Graduate

Yes, I, JC, graduated from pre-school.  I did not graduate with honors like my beautiful momma did. But I did have a lot of fun.

Here I am in my line-up of classmates.  Those without the black hat had to repeat!  Can you spot SM?
My dad was the only adult male to attend this gathering - what a dad!
My parents' next goal?  Get SM graduated!

Happy Birthday JC!

Do you remember when you turned five?  I do, because it happened last week for me.  Here I am with my annual birthday pancake tradition...
That '5' looks misshapen.  I wonder what would happen if you made it out of cake?
I had a great friend party...
My friends are such light-weights, I had to have a family party, too.  There was no cake left after SM and my dad got to it...
Another year and another retro-book...
Look at all the gifts I received.  What a wonderful day - why do I have to wait a year to have them?
Thanks to everyone from your favorite five year old!

One Quarter of Our State is Better Than Delaware Part III

Hello intrepid voyagers.  Our blog is both a powerful and influential medium.  All this making fun of the pathetic state of delaware caused none other than National Geographic to publish a piece on how 'awesome' delaware is...good thing our blog receives more daily views!

Our last leg of our spring break trip involved visiting the White Sands...
Aunt J was there.  Where you ask?  Well "X" marks the spot.
Miles and miles of white sand that is both cool to the touch with the consistency of snow.
Don't let this picture fool you.  My dim-witted dad sunk like a stone into the hill side.
Where was SM?  She found her place - in Minnie...
We went to the NASA space hall of fame and built our own robots...
We did the hotel pool to cool off...
On our way back home we stopped by the zoo and then the World's Biggest Pistachio!  We had pistachio ice cream and picked up a jar of pistachio mayo.  Take that delaware.

Thanks for visiting Aunt J!

One Quarter of Our State is Better than Delaware Part II

Where did we go on Day 2?  Can you guess from this picture?
Yes you are right!  We went to Carlsbad Caverns.  Sweet, sweet, SM rode like this...
for about two minutes.  Then she walked it.  Then she melted down and left.  On the bright side - Look Aunt J was there!
We tried taking pictures underground but our camera was unable to light the "Great Room".  This is the best that Canon could do.
After that we visited the Living Desert!  Haha - it's an oxymoron!  My beautiful momma, B, took this picture soon after my dad sat on a cactus.  His face was frozen this way the rest of the day!
It was a bad luck day all around for my dad - he got attacked by a giant bat, too.
A picture from happier times - like that morning in Carlsbad...
Aunt J - thanks for accompanying us through the dark depths of Southeastern NM! (behind us is the majesty of the "Great Room" (thanks Canon)!)

One Quarter of Our State is Better than Delaware Part I

Here we go!
On a trip to the southeastern part of New Mexico.
We picked up Aunt J in Albuquerque
Then got on the road to travel to Roswell - how quirky.

Right outside of town is a wildlife refuge called Bitter Lake
We had some lunch - a picnic, but with girl scout cookies not cake!

"Wait, who's this guy" asks SM?
A scary alien who put your dad in disarray!
We played on an outdoor playground
It had a fantastic rocket!
A zoo with a bald eagle
We got very close
Wonderful Roswell
Beautiful B attended this trip as well!

Pizza Time!

Before the epic trip to the Southeast,
Little JC got to create his own eats!
Here he is at the Time Out Kitchen
Look at his class - they're so excited they are practically twitchin'!
Here is JC behind the scenes,
Ham and pineapples make the perfect pizza cuisines.
Whaa!  SM and Gram were there too.
Alas they didn't get to make a pizza - oh poo!
There's the smile - just like predicted by Machiavelli,
The smile only comes when he's stuffing his belly!
Yum!
