SM Turns Two - The Presents

Ahoy!  Look at my booty!  Let's make like Marc Summers and Unwrap!
When it comes to presents, I become super strong...
Whoops!  Something for my dad got mixed up in my stuff!
I made out like a bandit!  Or is it a smokey?  Whatever - I made out like Burt Reynolds before he shaved his mustache!
Here's a couple videos as evidence of my language capabilities.  Two weeks with Rosetta stone and I have this English thing down pat...

Good!

Happy Birthday SM (Foodie Edition)

Happy Birthday SM!  You turned two and you are too cute.  Her morning started with the always famous "2"-shaped pancakes...
Lunch was eggplant parmigiana at her behest.  Only fresh mozzarella please!
Dinner was pizza with her friend C.  We asked the kids to smile for this picture and this is what we got...Thanks M.
Dessert was cupcakes.  Chocolate cupcakes.  Flowery chocolate cupcakes!
Second birthdays are great because you know how to talk.  Or at least SM does!
Next time is the presents!

MLK Weekend in Denver

Often times when we look at our January picture folder it looks quite empty.  After our annual holiday travel, we often say - let's never travel again!  Well, this year we decided to hit the road in the first month of the year.  It was downhill to Denver - oh boy!
Heavy D and SM spent some quality time together...
Uncle B and my dad spent a good deal of time lighting a fire...
Aunt K took us to an indoor water park pool!
SM was not afraid of H20 this time...
On our way back we visited Garden of the Gods.  Look it's White Rock!
Thanks for hosting us Aunt K and Uncle B!

Other Holiday Adventures...

Before we move on to January (blog-time is really quite a bit slower than real-time), here are some other fun pictures from our holiday travels.  SM opening her beloved dream-light (sleep-tight)!
JC helping Heavy D open a gift...
Annual visit to Charles Edward Cheese's Fine Pizza Establishment...
Roller boards in the gymnasium...
A visit to dad's old MSE department...
A chance to sit in the same desks dad sat in for a predominant majority of his classes...
This picture sums up our holiday trip.  Why?  Because there is just so much going on in this picture...
Hand check!

Our Christmas Trip

A quick airplane ride took us from the LOE to the east.  We went three wide on the Kindle Fire Express 2000 XLE.
On Christmas eve we made some cookies...
Did a live action creche
And took a cousin photograph.  (SM was photographer)
Christmas morning we headed down to the tree...
And then opened some presents...
SM got a baby doll.
JC got a hat, robe, and Furious Bird pen.
M got a dog that doesn't shed or defecate.  My beautiful momma has obviously never heard of such a thing.

SM also got Dora's Backpack with attached map...
How else would you dress for such an activity?
Well that was an exciting day.  Time to do what I do best.
Merry Christmas!

Counting down Until Christmas

Christmas is on it's way (just pretend with me)!  What should we do to fill in the days?  Well, JC and I returned to ice skating.  We've both improved and I can skate backwards!
You can attend the LA Christmas parade.  Here is what the parade-goers saw.  After is our view - Yes it's Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.

My sister took a different tack and read every book on the shelf.
SM also tried out finger puppets...
JC tried riding bikes in the snow...
I tried on new outfits...
When all else fails.  I suppose you can always try watching TV...

Or just go to sleep!

Get here soon Christmas!

Decorating for Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  Why you ask?  It's because my beautiful momma wanted to decorate.  Many people are still under the impression that the tornado took Dorothy to Oz.  Rather she was sent to the LOE to decorate a tree as this picture attests.
Here are the twelve days of Christmas.  This decoration took a lot of time to make as each animal was handcut from fabric.  Good thing our GGMa M did this for us!  Thank you!!! FYI we asked the kids to pose and this what we got....
After putting everything just so, it was time to play garage basketball.  It's just like regular basketball but indoors so that we can stay out after 5 PM (coyote time).
