JC Playing Basketball

JC played Kinderhoops this year.  He was on the Golden Eagles.  Here he is pictured with his Kindergarten's version of Flat Stanley - "Ben Bear"...
Here he is in action...
Here is practicing one of the three skills we worked on this season - dribble, pass, shoot...
Here's his team.  They ended their season a little less than a month ago...
He scored a few times early in the season and then lost interest.  In other words - the same story as Kinderkicks soccer!

Halloween

Hey M, what can you see from up there?
Oh.  She sees Halloween. That means trick-or-treat on Main street...
Pumpkin carving...
The kids actually dug into their pumpkins this year...
Trick or treating lead to a bladder control for the unpictured individual...
Candy eating time...

As Promised, The Rest of the Denver Trip

The rest of the Denver trip consisted of quality time with our single C cousin, Heavy D.  Here little JC reads the book 'Crime and Punishment' to Heavy D.
Here is M showing him how to weave a friendship bracelet...
SM and him took the sport coupe to 'the field'...
We played with a large ball...
We also threw a smaller ball to the dog.
Poor CS, she tore her MCL.  That's her last ball chasing for a while!
Thanks for visiting G and Aunt JKC.  Thanks for hosting Uncle B, Aunt K, and Heavy D!

Denver Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins are expensive in the LOE.  So we drove to Denver and found a reasonably priced pumpkin patch right next to a Jellystone Camping Resort.  Look who else was there!
It's G, Aunt J, Aunt K, Uncle B, and Heavy D!  They also attended this wondrous fall fest.  There was cow-roping...
A hay maze...
The maze ended in a slide...
There was even huger slides, too...Look at G go!

We got to feed goats...
Ride horses...
And pick out pumpkins.  Whoops! Heavy D fell off his chair!
We did not see the great pumpkin.  Despite this patch's sincerity.  Next post will be the rest of the Denver Trip.

M the Brownie

Hola!  I, M, became a Brownie through a marvelous bridging ceremony...Here I am with my Brownie troop after we have all transitioned from mere Daisies.

We marched in the parade and passed out candy to all the good little girls and boys...
Hey look!  There's one!
This little boy is very happy about the balls he received!
The Brownie troop visited Los Ranchos de Golodrinas.  I got to pet a llama...
My brother, JC, got to make some tortillas...
I got to make some grape juice with my bare feet...It was cold
Then I got to drink it...it seemed like a good idea at the time...
It is fun being a Brownie so far...

Happy Birthday M!

Oh boy!  M is seven years old.  We tried to make it memorable.  We took her down to the ABQ and saw some balloons...
We visited Charles Edward Cheese...
We ate at the grape restaurant (Olive Garden)...
I received a few presents...
A pizza for dinner....I wonder why SM is sad?
I guess it's because she needs a pony tail now...
Thank you for the presents.  I had a great birthday...

Colorado C's Visit. Experience the High Life.

Look who it is!  Heavy D brought his parents to visit us in the LOE.
We visited Bandelier.  Uncle B seemed to be unaware that he was hogging the binoculars.
Heavy D and SM desired a nap so they were sent home with my dimwitted dad.  The rest stayed and climbed into the caves...

And stood on rocks...
We went to Santa Fe where Uncle B got to stand in front of a statue bearing his name...
We all did the labyrinth in front of the cathedral.  We did not see David Bowie, though.
And we finished off the weekend with ice cream...
Danke Schon for the visit Colorado Cs.

1st Day of School

About two months ago, M and JC had their first day of school.  Here is JC ready for his initial entry into the educational pool (i.e. Kindergarten).
And here is M, a veteran of the educational system on her way to second grade...
Don't worry, SM, it will be you day soon (as in three more years).
Here they are walking with Grandma (Grandpa not in photo) into the school yard.  It appears that we were early or late.
JC just heard what SM plans on doing that day...
SM plans to enjoy the record-setting amounts of attention...
